Why Your Fabric Looks Faded Until You Flip It

This one is honestly a little funny.

A customer receives their fabric.

Within a few minutes, we get a message:

“The print looks too faded.”

Now, when this first started happening, we were genuinely worried.

We checked everything.

We rechecked the file.

We compared prints.

“How could this happen?”

Because what we sent from our side looked perfectly fine.

What We Eventually Discovered

Then one day, we helped a customer figure it out.

Then it happened again.

And again.

And again.

At that point, we realized—this wasn’t random.

It was a pattern.

Here’s What’s Actually Going On

When we print fabric, the design transfers onto one side—the front side.

The back side naturally shows a lighter, slightly washed-out version of the same print.

That’s completely normal.

Now here’s where things get interesting.

When we pack fabric, we sometimes fold it inside out so the actual printed side stays protected from dust during handling and shipping.

So when you open your package…

You might be looking at the back side first.

The Moment of Panic 😄

So the sequence usually goes like this:

You open the fabric →

You see a slightly faded print →

And your brain goes:

“Oh no… what is this?”

Totally fair reaction.

The Fix (And the Funny Part)

Then we say:

“Can you just flip the fabric once and see the other side?”

And suddenly:

“Ohhh… 😅”

Bright colors. Sharp print. Everything exactly as expected.

Just flip it.
